01
How It Captures Pollutants
Various contaminants, including volatile organic
compounds (VOCs), smoke, chemical fumes, and odors,
are effectively captured by the activated charcoal.
These pollutants adhere to the surface of the charcoal
granules or particles.
02
The Science Behind Adsorption
Activated charcoal has a highly porous structure with
a large surface area. When air passes through the
charcoal, pollutants, gases, and odors are trapped in
these pores. Unlike absorption, where a substance is
taken in and distributed throughout another material,
adsorption involves the adherence of molecules to the
surface of the charcoal.
